Chris Moyles show (Radio 1)

This Show is the current BBC Radio 1 breakfast show in the UK, and has been since the 5th January 2004. From 2004 to 2007, the show was broadcast 6:55–10:00 every weekday, but since 15 October 2007 to present it has started from 6:30 am till 10:00 am. It is the longest running Radio 1 breakfast show in the station's history.
The show lasts three and a half hours, with news and sport read half-hourly between 06:30 and 10:00, except at 09:00. In the chris moyles show he often uses and upward inflection as he is always expressing his views and thaughts. The Music played on the show is new and up to date chart Music which i believe appeals to all ages.
Chris Moyles's Projection is always up beat and energetic i believe he does this to keep the audience interested. Although his projection and pitch us upbeat and loud he still doesnt go over the top as it is a morning show and doesnt want to be too loud as the audience will be chilled out. I believe chris speaks a normal medium pace through out his show. The morning show is very much a Talk show in which many different subjects are spoken about from celebrity gossip to sport to even there own personal lives, i say lives because the show has more than 1 presenter it has on avarege three co presenters, i believe this is very effective as it feels like your there with them as the all have onversations about every day subjects which we as an audience can all in some way relate to. The use of Pause on the Chris Moyles show is nearly unheard of as there are jingles and sound beds between conversations This is to keep the show exciting and flowing. The show Targets a wide range of ages (16+).
The mode of address of the Chris Moyles show is an direct/formal style of presenting.

Tim Westwood

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DBbFar2tL0&feature=fvst
I believe this show requires a spacific taste and believe the audience age range is from 16-25 this is because this show plays young music such as Rap, Hiphop, RandB and Garage. He hosts the drive time show on weekdays 16:00-19:00 this is also a prime time for this age range to listen as it is when everyone is on there way back from college or school.
Pitch:
Tim Westwood uses an increasing and descending inflections. He uses increased pitch in certain places like when he opens the show this tells you as a listener that he is very upbeat and excited and also very friendly with whoever he is talking to.
Pace:
The pace used throughout the show is fast in parts this again is part of his character and add excitment to the show.
Projection:
When Tim Westwood talks in to the microphone he adds effects to it like echo's and explosions to empower his voice and make the audience listen. He uses the personal zone to get through to the listeners that he is announcing something important.
Pause
There are no pauses right through his show. Tim Westwood chooses not to use many pauses in his show because he tries to keep the audience interested in what he is saying.
The Westwood show uses an direct/formal style of presenting to interact with theaudience.
Asda fm

http://www.asda.co.uk/corp/asda-fm.html
Asda have created there own radio station which is then played throughtout while customers are shopping. The music played is chart music old and new which targets all diffrent audiences it was launched on the 7th September 1991. The Asda station influences shoppers to by a particular product as they talk about whats on specail offer in the store. I believe the target audience for this station is for families between 20- 60. This is because i believe these are the ages of the people most likly to be shopping and to take notice of the station.
The presenter uses a very formal tone to his voice which for informing customers of whats in store, although he may sound dull he plays cheerfull jingles throughout to keep the audience interested.
The presenter doesnt pause much on Asda Fm also the presenter isnt always presant and a set playlist is playing. When there is a presenter there mode of address is direct because they are speaking directly to the customers. Mainly the show consists of adverts and upbeat songs for the all shoppers but also the show advertises offers and promotions for the customer.
Unlike radio one Chris moyles's show and 1xtras Tim westwoods show Asda fm is on a different platform as it is a (in-store-radio) which is only heard within an Asda store where as 1xtra and radio 1 can be heard world wide.
From analysing these three stations i can see how different each of them are be it on how they are presented to how there structured. from analysing theese i can see that that our Phresh fm show is very simular to the radio 1 Chris Moyles show. This is for many reasons as we have up beat presenters and up to date local exciting topics and music.
